About Pearce Counselling
Alexia is an experienced clinical therapist providing professional counseling to adults, adolescents and couples. Through a holistic approach, and in a safe and encouraging environment, she offers counselling that is geared towards helping clients gain understanding of themselves, their place in the world and their life struggles. Her therapy orientation is mostly cognitive-behavioral, however adlerian, solution-focused and existential therapy approaches are also used depending on the needs of the client.
Alexia’s clinical experience includes work at the Adler Trauma Clinic where she’s worked with clients who have a history of unresolved trauma. She worked at the McMichael Gallery providing group counseling to people facing terminal illness. Her areas of interest include, depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress, anger management, illness management, grief and loss. She also worked at Hincks-Dellcrest in the developmental clinic, screening pre-schoolers new to the country, to assess their readiness for school.
Alexia has a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology (Specialized Honours) from the University of Guelph, a Bachelors of Education from the University of Toronto and a Masters in Counselling Psychology from the Adler School of Professional Psychology. |
